Madonna Misses Rosie
A few weeks ago, Rosie O'Donnell joined Madonna on a trip to Israel during the Jewish High Holy Days.
But just last night, it seems Madonna couldn't get it together to come see O'Donnell in New York City. Madonna was a no-show at the opening of O'Donnell's art show Solace, held at a gallery space in the New World Stages theater in midtown Manhattan.
No big whoop, except just 30 minutes after O'Donnell's opening was over, I'm told Madonna arrived at the New World for a performance of Celia, a musical about late salsa queen Celia Cruz. She was joined by ex-beau (and daddy of her daughter) Carlos Leon and pals Ingrid Casares and Guy Oseary.
Okay, maybe Madonna had trouble getting there in time because she was busy finalizing her reported gazillion-dollar deal with Live Nation. The Wall Street Journal just reported Madonna is close to leaving Warner Music for the concert promoter giant and a 10-year deal worth $120 million.
Who did make it to the gallery? O'Donnell's pal from The View Joy Behar, Chita Rivera, Margaret Cho and Cyndi Lauper.
And I'm happy to report Madonna did take some time during intermission to peruse her pal's art. In true diva fashion, a source tells me a roped-off area allowed Madonna to look without anyone getting in her way.
O'Donnell isn't miffed by the no-show. "Rosie saw Madonna today, and all is very good," O'Donnell's rep just told me. "There are no issues whatsoever."SOURCE; http://www.eonline.com/gossip/planetgossip/detail/index.jsp?uuid=b332a970-c4f6-41ac-87d8-5e03b9831922
