Madonnas eyeing home is Israel

Pop idol expresses interest in purchasing an apartment in a new development that is being built in north Tel Aviv

Ofer Petersburg

It seems that Madonna's latest visit to Israel may not have been only
about spiritual enlightenment but also about business. Ynet has learned
that the avid Kabbalah follower is interested in purchasing a luxury
apartment in Tel Aviv worth over a $1 million.

The search for Madonna's new apartment is being carried out by the Kabbalah Centre, but sources close to Madonna confirm that the apartment is meant for her, in a bid to encourage her to come to Israel more often.

Besides Madonna, other celebrities such as Demi Moore and
Ashton Kutcher are also considering purchasing apartments in Tel Aviv after having visited.

Following reports of the pop icon's plans, the Kabbalah Centre
has been inundated with offers from contractors seeking to make her
their newest client.

The particular apartment that has caught Madonna's eye is
located in a secluded development complex in northern Tel Aviv that
includes 35 luxury units. Amenities include a swimming pool, saunas,
Jacuzzis, a gym, a business lounge, intimate entertainment areas,
artificial waterfalls, pool tables, and more.

Producer Steven Spielberg has also expressed interest in acquiring one of the luxurious apartments in this complex.

This is not the first time the superstar has expressed interest in acquiring
a vacation home in Israel. Two years ago she inquired about purchasing
an apartment in Rosh Pina but nothing ever came of it.

Uri Rott, one of the owners of the company that is building the
development, stated that his company "will not divulge any information
regarding the acquisition or interest in our development without
explicit agreement."

The Kabbalah Centre did not respond to inquiries.

Madonna to record a song for PEACE in ISRAEL

Madonna tells Peres she is 'in love with Israel'

Pop star meets president at his Jerusalem residence during visit to attend conference on Kabbalah

"Tell me what I should do, Mr Peres, because I am in love with Israel," pop star Madonna, who is visiting the Jewish state to attend a conference on Kabbalah, told President Shimon Peres on Saturday evening.

The pop star was seen entering Peres' Jerusalem residence after the end of the Jewish New Year at sunset Saturday.

Full story

In the meeting, which lasted longer than scheduled, Peres spoke about peace and tolerance, the war on terror and ways in which international artists and celebrities can take part in advancing the peace process.

"I can't believe I have won this opportunity to raise a toast for the New Year in the state of Israel of all places, with the president who I admire so much," Madonna said.

The pop star promised to be active in promoting the issues Peres referred to and said she would include a song about peace in her next album.

"You don’t know how popular the Book of Splendor (Sefer Hazohar) is among Hollywood actors," Madonna told the president. "Everyone I meet talks to me only about that. I am an ambassador for Judaism, and time will tell."

Talking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Madonna said, "What is happening is terrible. I hope the human mind and common sense overcome extremism."

Madonna gave Peres the Book of Splendor with the dedication, "To Shimon Peres, the man I admire and love, Madonna."

On Friday, Madonna was filmed singing Jewish songs and dancing at a conference on Kabbalah with a crowd of hundreds at a Tel Aviv hotel.

Madonna, who arrived in the Holy Land on Wednesday, has become a follower of Kaballah in recent years despite her background as a Roman Catholic. Orthodox Jews have called her interest in the sect an abomination.

The singer has taken the Hebrew name Esther, and has been seen wearing a red thread on her wrist in a Jewish tradition to ward off the evil eye.

Madonna was expected to leave for Britain on Sunday morning, but plans to return to Israel on the weekend for Yom Kippur.

Madonnas #3 on FORBES LIST

In Pictures: The Top-Earning Musicians

© Gregg DeGuire/WireImage.com

3. Madonna

Total earnings: $72 million

Madonna crisscrossed the globe last year for her tour, "Confessions," which drew over 1 million fans and grossed $194 million, making it the top-earning tour by a female artist in history. NBC cut the Material Girl a hefty check to broadcast the "Confessions" tour live last November, though ratings proved disappointing. In March, the always fashion-forward singer linked up with retailer H&M for her own clothing line, M. (Rhinestones a-plenty, but no cone bras.) Generated a maelstrom of negative publicity last year for her adoption of a baby in Malawi.

Esther is back!

A postive story on madonna for a change!

Madonna In Israel
Pop music star, Madonna, arrived back in Israel to celebrate the High
Holidays at a special international Kabbalah conference being held in
Tel Aviv. She wasn’t alone this time, as besides arriving with her
husband, Guy Ritchie (shown here with Israel President Shimon Peres),
she was accompanied by an entourage of other celebrities including
actress Demi Moore, actor Ashton Kutcher, and comedian Rosie O’Donnel.

Madonna
appears to be getting into Kabbalistic study, and she presented
President Peres with a copy of the Zohar, the ancient book of Jewish
mysticism upon which the study of Kabbalah is based. Peres in turn
presented her with a copy of the Old Testament Bible in Hebrew at a
special reception held at his home in “Bet Hanasei” in central
Jerusalem. The pop star has also become renowned for her humanitarian
work, including adopting at least two children from impoverished
African countries. She always wears the “Kabbalah Red String” on her left wrist, which is alleged by Kaballah believers to ward of the dangers of The Evil Eye. Her children are also seen wearing this amulet as well.

Orthodox
Jews, especially ones trained in Kaballistic studies take a dim view of
Madonna’s enthusiasm and even her participation as “an abomination” due
to her not being Jewish, as well as her ‘interesting’ lifestyle. The
singer’s fans don’t seem to mind, however; and even appear to admire
her interest in this area. The other celebrities who came with her,
have not appeared to get any real attention at all, including fashion
designer Donna Karan, who perhaps came to become inspired to create
some new fashion design that is influenced by Kabbalistic symbolism.

When
questioned by reporters regarding her giving a copy of the Zohar, or
Book of Splendor as it is known in English, to President Peres, she
said that she was thrilled to give such a book to President Peres as it
is very special to her and is “very popular in Hollywood”. She also
went to say that she considers herself as “an ambassador for Judaism”.

As for Kutcher, a well known Hollywood character actor, he said that involvement in Kaballistic studies has improved his life and made him “a better actor”.

Rosie O’Donnel, who is well known for her
“no holds barred” comments and ‘alternative life style’ may also be
looking for some kind of inspiration to improve her life. This may also
be so following her recent feud with billionaire real estate mogul
Donald Trump.

Madonna, who was raised in the Roman Catholic
faith, plans to stay several more days in Israel and will visit a
number of sacred Kabbalah sites. She last visited Israel three years
ago on a trip that was also connected with the Kaballah. She considers
her visit during the Jewish High Holy Days as “a dream come true”.

The
Kabbalah is a very involved study that most Jews, mostly men, only
become involved in after age 40. It may be that the singing star, whose
last big public appearance was in London during the recent Live Earth
ecology song fest, may finally be coming to terms with her age which is
“somewhere in her 40’s”. In fact, it wasn’t too long ago that she said
of U.S. actress and pop singer, Cher (who herself is Jewish and now in
her late 50’s), that “Cher is aging gracefully”.

Perhaps, with the help of the “Book of Splendor”, Madonna, who also calls herself by
the Hebrew name of Esther, is beginning to “age gracefully” herself.

First report of new CD out in Nov 07!

Madonna will be anxious to return to the zeitgeist, a
place she hasn't been since the Ray Of Light album almost a decade ago.

MADONNA (out November): Madonna is taking few chances with her
eponymous forthcoming album. Timbaland - one of the world's most in-demand
producers - has been recruited to sprinkle gold dust on proceedings. One of
the tracks they worked on, The Beat Goes On, is set to be the first single
and finds Madonna duetting with Pharrell Williams. Also leaked in advance is
one of several Justin Timberlake collaborations, Candy Shop, which has been
described by one UK critic as "a pneumatic sex-pop monster". link

Madonna spending ten days in Israel

It's no secret Madonna is a big fan of Israeli President Shimon Peres.
Now comes proof of his devotion to the former Material Girl: Police in
Israel have deployed a group of 2,000 officers to make sure there's no

Madonna’s former house in Beverly Hills, CA on market for $17.495M

An eight-bedroom mansion in Beverly Hills, Calif. that once was owned by Madonna has just come on the market for $17,495,000.

madonna2.jpg

In a Big Time Listings exclusive, we can report on the listing of the 6,458-square-foot Spanish-style house at 1015 N. Roxbury Drive in Beverly Hills, which its current owners purchased in 2004 from Madonna's Lot 99 Trust for $8,750,000, according to public records.

07-219735-4.jpg07-219735-5.jpg

07-219735-6.jpg07-219735.jpg

Madonna had owned the house for almost four and a half years. She had purchased the house in 2000 through her Castillo Dellago Trust for a reported $6.5 million from actress Diane Keaton, who had owned it since buying it in 1996 for between $2 million and $3 million, according to public records and the Los Angeles Times. Madge then placed it on the market in 2003 for $10.9 million and later reduced its asking price to $8.9 million.

Built in 1926, Madonna's former house was designed by architect Wallace Neff and was completely refurbished by Keaton and again in 2007 by its current owners. The gated house also has been featured in Architectural Digest. Features in the house include nine baths, courtyards, an outdoor fireplace and dining area, a pool, formal gardens, a detached office, and two guesthouses, all on a 0.59-acre lot.

Check out listing information for the house – complete with photos.

Madonna now owns at least two homes — one in London, and the other a 5,800-square-foot house, according to public records, (or a 16,500-square-foot house, according to the Los Angeles Times) on a 1.18-acre parcel on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills that she purchased in 2003 for about $12 million from actress Sela Ward, according to public records.

Madonnas gift to Shimon Peres

Madonna: I'm an 'ambassador for Judaism'

11:23 AM CDT on Sunday, September 16, 2007
Associated Press

JERUSALEM -- Madonna toasted the Jewish new year with Israeli President Shimon Peres and declared herself an "ambassador for Judaism," local newspapers reported Sunday.

The singer, who is not Jewish, arrived in Israel Wednesday on the eve of Jewish new year to attend a conference on Kabbalah or Jewish mysticism.

Madonna met Peres at his official Jerusalem residence on Saturday evening and the two exchanged gifts, with Madonna receiving a lavishly bound copy of the Old Testament.

AP

Madonna

She gave Peres a volume of "The Book of Splendor," the guiding text of Kabbalah, inscribed "To Shimon Peres, the man I admire and love, Madonna," the Yediot Ahronot daily reported.

A Peres aide confirmed the meeting but had no details.

"You don't know how popular the Book of Splendor is among

Hollywood actors," Yediot quoted Madonna as telling Peres.  "Everyone I meet talks to me only about that. I am an ambassador for Judaism."

Madonna, who was raised a Roman Catholic, has taken the Hebrew name Esther, and has been seen wearing a red thread on her wrist in a Jewish tradition to ward off the evil eye.

But her interest in Kabbalah in recent years has been criticized by Orthodox Jews, who say it is an abomination.

Other celebrities who flew in for the Kabbalah conference included movie star Demi Moore and her husband, actor Ashton Kutcher, Rosie O'Donnell and fashion designer Donna Karan. Madonna came with her film director husband Guy Ritchie.

The Haaretz daily quoted Kutcher as telling a group of Israeli businessmen and entertainers on Saturday that Kabbalah had answered fundamental questions in his life and made him a better actor.

Rabbis who specialize in Kabbalah have criticized the interest by non-Jewish celebrities in the subject.

Jewish tradition holds that Kabbalah is so powerful and complicated that only bonafide students may begin to approach it and then only after age 40. Among the elements of Kabbalah are mystical revelations drawn from holy books by recombination of letters and other signs.

Rabbis were particularly incensed by Madonna's song, "Isaac," about the revered 16th-century Kabbalist rabbi Yitzhak Luria, which featured on her 2005 album, "Confessions on a Dance Floor."

During her visit, Madonna plans to visit sites sacred to Kabbalists. It was not known how long she intends to stay.

Madonna paid her first visit to Israel three years ago on another Kabbalah-centered trip.

"I can't believe that I'm celebrating the new year with you in Israel," Maariv newspaper quoted her as telling Peres on Saturday.  "It's a dream come true."

Dinner with Madonna

Dinner with Madonna

When
Jerusalem Bureau Chief, Kevin Flower, began gesticulating wildly at me
from across the dinner table, pointing at his chest and mouthing some
word I mistook for an obscenity, I thought maybe he was trying to tell
me the bill was here and I owed him a LOT of money.

It took me
a while to realize that he was actually pointing at a petite blonde
sitting at the table behind him instantly recognizable as the one and
only Madonna.

Suddenly, the place was buzzing.
Waiters dropped their dishes. Diners stopped chewing and turned around
to stare. The more quick-witted ones whipped out their mobile phones
and snapped grainy pictures.

But while the rest of the place
craned their necks to get a better look, I was shrinking into my seat
hoping to disappear from view.

You see, I did a story recently
on Madonna, Kabbalah and her visit to Israel for the Jewish holidays.
Suddenly, face to face with the subject of my work, I was terrified.

I
had a vision of her marching over and slapping me with her dinner
napkin, deeply offended at my pathetic attempt to report on her
celebrity supremacy as husband Guy Ritchie glowered at me from a
distance.

So, I took decisive action. I decided to ignore her. I turned to a fellow journalist beside me for support.

"What
about these rumors of the Egyptian President’s failing health? What
does it all mean?" I asked in a desperate attempt to look serious and
sound earnest, pretending to be utterly unconcerned with the superstar
in our midst.

But it was unavoidable. All around me people
wanted to talk Madonna. What kind of shoes is she wearing? What is she
eating? Is it kosher? What size do you think she wears? She’s so tiny!
Why does her hair look so great? Atika, why does her hair look so
perfect? You have the best view!

That was the worst part. I
had a clear shot to the Material Girl herself and I was too embarrassed
to even glance in her direction.

My friend Katherine, a
professional photographer who is much braver than me, suddenly
announced, "I want to take her picture but I don’t have a camera."

Guiltily, sheepishly, I slid my CNN-paid-for videophone across the table to her, an enabler to paparazzi.

You
know, as a journalist, I’ve walked into the aftermath of a tsunami,
stared down the barrel of a kalashnikov, and run headfirst into a riot.
I’ve interviewed presidents and prime ministers, even a convicted
cannibal.

But I couldn’t even gather enough guts to press a button and take a photo of Madonna.

We
struggled for at least 30 minutes like this. Giddily taking photos of
each other. Surreptitiously zooming in on the real target behind us.

It was a mess.

The
closest we got was a very unflattering picture of Bureau Chief Kevin
Flower and Madonna’s two bodyguards blocking the view behind him.

So, at the restaurants urging, we finally paid the bill and walked out, utterly defeated.

Of
course, I’m sure Madonna had no idea what was going on. She probably
didn’t even watch CNN and had never even seen my piece on air and
didn’t give a hoot except to think: What a bunch of losers these people
at the next table are.

Outside, the paparazzi pounced on us as
we exited, flashing and snapping their cameras then groaning when they
realized their mistake.

What was I doing? I should have
elbowed her bodyguards aside, brazenly snapped a photo and demanded an
interview with Madonna mid-bite. That's what a real journalist would
do.

So, Madonna, I apologize for not doing my job and
interrupting your dinner and bombarding you with questions until I was
forcibly removed from the building.

I admit it: When it comes to celebrities, I am a bad journalist.

Madonna and Britney Spears will have their 'heads cut off' if they continue to spread 'Satanic culture', Muslim terrorist leaders have warned.

Is this guy crazy or what?

The organisation, which is mainly based in the Gaza Strip, is responsible for carrying out countless rocket attacks, shootings and bombings against Jews. The chilling threat has been made as Madonna and her husband Guy Ritchie prepare to celebrate the Jewish New Year with around 2,000 other Kabbalah followers in Israel.Abdel-Al insists he will give Madonna and Britney the chance to save their lives by converting to Islam, but if they refuse they will be executed. He added: 'If these two prostitutes keep doing what they are doing, we of course will punish them. First we will call them to join Islam. But if they keep what they are doing... we can stone them or kill them as we see fit if they keep tempting men in order to put them far from Islam. A prostitute woman must be stoned or must be hit eighty times with a belt.'They are deliberately spreading this culture as part of the Americans' war against Islam.' In the shocking book - penned by author Aaron Klein - several Muslim extremists were asked to describe what the US would be like if Islamic Sharia law was imposed.

Madonna has followed her faith to Israel to attend a Kabbalah conference.

Famously known as the queen of pop, the star is more likely to be called by the less glamorous Hebrew name Esther on her special trip.

It is thought the 49-year-old will be taking time out to take in sites sacred to Kabbalists

There is a week long schedule of events to mark the Jewish New Year, with many Kaballah followers flocking to the country to celebrate their faith.

Brought up a Roman Catholic, Madonna began practising the Jewish form of mysticism back in the 90s, long before it became a celebrity trend.

It is thought the 49-year-old will be taking time out to take in sites sacred to Kabbalists.

But her husband Guy Richie was noticeably absent from the event and was spotted soaking up the sun on a nearby beach.

Hollywood stars Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are also expected to attend the celebrations.

Madonna in Israel Report #2

Madonna and other Kabbalah celebrities in Israel

JERUSALEM (AFP) — American pop diva Madonna and other celebrity practitioners of the ancient Jewish mystical tradition Kabbalah are in Israel for the new year holiday of Rosh Hashana, local media reported on Thursday.

Madonna, who last visited Israel in 2004, arrived surrounded by bodyguards several hours late at a large Tel Aviv hotel, the reports said.

The London-based singer will be joined by US actors Ashton Kutcher, his wife Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, and clothing designer Donna Karan, a spokesman for a Kabbalah centre in Tel Aviv sponsoring the visit told AFP on Tuesday.

In 2004 Madonna took the Hebrew name Esther and is now reportedly observing the Jewish sabbath, although she has not converted to Judaism.

She made a previous visit to Israel three years ago at the height of the Palestinian intifada, and told reporters at the time that she was more worried about paparazzi than suicide bombers.

Madonna turned to the Kabbalah in 1997 after coming into contact with a Los Angeles-based centre that teaches an eclectic mix of Orthodox Jewish tradition and positive thinking aimed at spiritual well-being.

But from the point of view of Orthodox Judaism, this is sacrilege. Even if she were to convert she would be denied the right to study the Kabbalah, which is open only to married men over 40 who have studied the Talmud for years.

Clapping and singing, pop music star Madonna joined in a Kabbalah conference on Friday in Tel Aviv to celebrate the Jewish New Year.

Madonna was singing Jewish songs with the crowd of hundreds at the David Intercontinental Hotel where the conference on Jewish mysticism was being held. At one point she pressed another participant - apparently a friend of hers - up to the front where he danced excitedly, making her and the crowd giggle and clap enthusiastically.

The 49-year-old diva was wearing a black jacket with elbow-length sleeves held at the waist with a belt with a large buckle. She also donned a baseball-type hat plaid in red and black with her hair in a ponytail.

Madonna arrived in Israel Wednesday night, on a private visit to the Holy Land. The singer did not speak to the media and the conference was closed to TV cameras.

The actress Demi Moore and her husband, Ashton Kutcher, were also attending the conference in Tel Aviv, and were seen out on the city streets Thursday night.

The celebrity was raised a Roman Catholic, but she has become a follower of Jewish mysticism in recent years, raising the ire of many Orthodox Jews who see the adoption of Kabbalah by non-Jewish pop figures as an abomination.

The singer has taken the Hebrew name Esther, and has been seen wearing a red thread on her wrist to ward off the evil eye. During her visit she plans to visit sites sacred to Kabbalists.

Madonna paid her first visit to Israel three years ago, on another Kabbalah-centered trip.

Madonna parties two nights in a row (and it shows)

Madonna may be a year shy of turning 50, but there's no dimming her love of a big night out.

With her husband Guy Ritchie in tow, Madonna last night paid a visit to
Harry's Bar in London's Mayfair and for the second time in as many
days, ended the night looking worn out.

It appears the late nights are taking a toll on the mother of
three, who left the exclusive venue looking washed out and bleary eyed.

The back-to-back partying comes as Malawi official Simon Chisale
arrived in London to assess her over the adoption of David Banda.

The night before, Madonna was spotted heading home at 1am after attending the GQ Men of the Year awards.

Madonna had taken to the stage with Sir Elton John, where the pair finally called a truce on their high profile feud.

The row erupted more than two years ago after he publicly
accused the pop-singing superstar of lip-synching in an expletive laden
outburst.

Introducing
Madonna at this year's GQ Men of the Year Awards, Sir Elton said: "This
is a moment you thought you would never see."

Malawi adoption official Simon Chisale has arrived in London

The
pair hugged on stage, but the acerbic star couldn't resist a final
swipe, adding he had "written a groveling apology and offered to join
the Kabbalah".

Still, despite her two nights out, Madonna freshed up with a
cycle around London however she was perhaps not in the best mood - the
back of her shirt read B****.

Meanwhile, Madonna last week said she had not used her celebrity status to speed the adoption of David.

Madonna's effort to add the Malawian toddler to her family again
came under the spotlight when the Malawian official scheduled to go to
London to assess the adoption was removed from the case following
allegations he had solicited money from the singer for his trip.

The dismissal breathed new life into allegations that the singer
used her celebrity status to circumvent Malawian adoption laws -
allegations she denies.

"There has been absolutely no interference with government
officials or use of Madonna's 'celebrity' to speed up this adoption as
reported," spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg said in an e-mail.

"The plans to finalize the adoption of Madonna and (her husband) Guy
Ritchie's son David are proceeding as outlined almost a year ago."

The couple's custody order could be revoked if it is found that
David was being treated differently from their other children, Lourdes,
10, and Rocco, 6, or if the toddler's rights were being violated in any
way.

Rosenberg expressed confidence that the judge would rule in
Madonna's favor, saying the singer's entire family looked forward to
having the adoption finalized early next year.

Madonna, a cheeky toy and a joke at Guy's expense

When Guy Ritchie wed Madonna in 2000, he must have known what he was in for - she was never known for her restraint, afterall.

And seven years on, the singer's mischievous sense of humour towards him shows no sign of abating.

Celebrating his 39th birthday at London's fashionable Claridges
restaurant, the singer chose to whip out from under the table a present
which would have made most husbands turn puce.

It's in the bag: Madonna leaves Claridge's with her husband - and a new purchase

Friends of the couple have said that in their marriage they have argued a number of times about who really wears the trousers.

For all his mockney posturings, Guy has always felt slightly inferior
about his wife's massive earning power and domineering nature. Madonna
on the other hand is said to enjoy occasionally bating him on that
point. And this latest birthday gift - a strap-on - is, it seems, no
exception.

What is for sure it that such a gift given to Guy by Madonna can only
have been meant to make light of the rows over about who really takes
charge in their marriage.

Not for the faint-hearted: age clearly hasn't tamed Madonna's kinky side

By the way Madonna is carrying the gift - unusually in a transparent
bag - as the couple leave the Mayfair hotel and restaurant, one might
assume that Guy had refused to be seen leaving with it.

And the singer clearly relished that point as she flashed a
broad smile to photographers who she must have known laid in wait since
they had followed her earlier from the family home.

All of which behaviour might seem rather childish when taken in
isolation.
But it came after a few months during which they have been careful not
be appear too frivolous in public - for fear of that being looked down
on by the Malawian government officials deciding whether they would be
allowed permanently adopt baby David Banda.

The Mail has learned that over the weekend, the couple were
told the good news that they will be able to keep the youngster
.
They
received the news after a home visit by an African adoption official
described as "as well-choreographed as a dance number on her world
tour".

Malawi's child welfare minister Simon Chisale spent three days
in London last week, but spent just 40 minutes at Madonna's £6 million
Marylebone home on Wednesday afternoon.

As source close to the singer said: "It went like clockwork.
When he arrived, Madonna appeared to be surprised. She was in the
kitchen in an apron and a 50s style-dress baking fresh bread and
gingerbread men like a domestic goddess. The day before she had gone
through how the oven worked with the chef.

"Next it was on to her study to talk about her career. Across
the walls were pictures of her with everyone and the discs celebrating
her record sales and the awards.

"She spoke about her tours, saying she said she will tour once next in the next five years then after that no more.

"She made it very clear that they would tour as a family unit,
and the importance of normality in her children's lives. They are
allowed half an hour of TV twice a week, they are not allowed
newspapers. She was saying that lots of her friends had little children
too so that they would be very good influences.

"She was talking about David's culture and that she would take
him back to Malawi twice a year, that she has lots of people of diverse
backgrounds in her life."

The source went on: "She then moved down into the den in the
house - which is Guy's entertainment room and is decked out like a
hunting lodge. That's where she started talking about her ecological
plans, her ideas on climate change, and her plans for Malawi.

"She also spoke very movingly about her having success very young in
her life and sometimes going off the rails and how kabbalah became such
a unifying positive force in her life which made her appreciate other
people.

"Over the weekend Madonna had a reassuring phone conversation
where she was told that the Malawian authorities were happy about
David's progress. He has bonded, he's happy and healthy. David is
staying with the Ritchies, though there will be a further follow-up
visit later in the year."

Madonna Threatened To 'Kill' Bloc Party Security Guard

Madonna Threatened To 'Kill' Bloc Party Security Guard

Madonna threatened to “kill” a member of Bloc Party’s security at this year’s Live Earth, according to reports.

The singer is alleged to have made the comment after she was put
in a headlock and escorted from the band’s dressing room at the Wembley
Stadium event in July, reports dotmusic.

Speaking about the incident, Bloc Party’s frontman Kele Okereke said that the band’s Scottish tour manager was not aware of who Madonna was.

"When she came in, he alerted security and security dragged her out.
In a headlock," explained the singer. "It was really surreal, and
everyone stopped speaking."

He added: "And all we could hear is Madonna cursing and saying
she's gonna kill these guys. She's really tough because of all that
Pilates that she does, so she got out of the headlock quite easily."

Madonna and Bloc Party were two of many acts who performed at the Live
Earth earlier this year – which had been organised by former American
Vice President
Al Gore to raise awareness about the problem of global warming.
