Guy Ritchie is reportedly set to cast wife Madonna in his upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie.
Guy -- whose marriage to the Material Girl singer has been dogged by divorce rumors over the past few months -- directed Madonna in the infamous film flop Swept Away, and is said to be considering having the pop superstar play an unfortunate victim of a serial killer being pursued by Holmes.
A source close to Ritchie reveals, "Madonna is fascinated with the project and the story of Sherlock Holmes.
"Despite the rumors, Guy and Madonna would love to work together again and I don't thing either of them can resist a chance to stick up two fingers up to all the people who think they are splitting."
Ritchie, 39, last week spoke out to deny his marriage was on the rocks, telling a magazine, "My marriage is fine as far as I'm aware of."
Richie is in California to promote his new movie RocknRolla, which stars Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Jeremy Piven and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges.
Madonna is rehearsing in New York for her upcoming Sticky and Sweet world tour starting in August.
