We've lost count how many Madonna's had... but makeover mad women change their look 26 times in a lifetime
From screen siren to hippy chic, glam gothic to lady of the manor -
Madonna is the queen of reinvention - but she's not the only one who
likes to transform herself on a regular basis. The average British
woman undergoes 26 makovers in her lifetime, according to new research.
like pop chameleons Madonna and Kylie, 56 per cent of women change
their look every two years to keep up with trends and improve their
work life and relationships.
Whether it's a new haircut or a
change of wardrobe style, the biggest reason for a change of look is
the need for a confidence boost, according to 81 per cent of British
women asked in the Boots survey.
But just like Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes, our style also changes through the years as we experiment and mature.

punk rocker style in 2001 (bottom centre) and finally as a goth in 1998
Celeb icon: Like many women Victoria Beckham frequently updates her style, most recently with her new pixie crop
half of women literally need to 'wash that man right out of their
hair,' so they drastically change their look when a relationship ends
and 37 perc ent try to save their failing relationships by changing
their look to grab the attention of an uninterested partner.
Corinne Sweet says we associate good looks with health, wealth and
happiness: 'Beauty is more than skin deep, but psychologists confer
that we're more comfortable in our own skin when we're happy with the
way we look. Positive self-talk coupled with a makeover can lead to
greater success in work, home and love life.'
Grooming and pampering yourself, even just buying a new lipstick or eye shadow, can give your confidence an instant boost.'
no secret that we're in a celebrity-obsessed culture, so it should come
as no surprise that almost one in ten change their look to copy their
favourite celeb idol, with Kylie, Victoria Beckham and Gwyneth Paltrow
being favourite style icons.
four women are concerned that changing their look is expensive and a
quarter are afraid of looking like a fashion victim.

than 100,000 visitors from greece and abroad during this weekend. The
city (of 3.5 million people) was full. 500 hotels and 29.000 rooms
hardly managed to accommodate the visitors while the transportation
from and to Athens was problematic as well. Those problems aside, the
concert in the Olympic stadium of Athens was a success, everybody was
happy and hopefully Athens will host more shows like this in the future.
Franco seems to like playing gay characters and talking about it. In
his umpteenth interview about his role in "Milk," opposite Sean Penn,
Franco told Out magazine, "After our [on-screen] kiss, Sean texted
Madonna - his ex-wife, Madonna - and said, 'I just popped my cherry
kissing a guy. I thought of you. I don't know why' . . . There's a
scene in the pool and everybody else is dressed and there's just
something uncomfortable about that."

The pop star’s concert on September 11th broke the venue’s 10.30pm curfew by 40 minutes, causing widespread travel chaos.
It’s understood that Madonna had been due to take to the stage at 8.30pm but didn’t arrive until shortly after 9pm.
The fine equates to £50,000 for every extra 15 minutes.
“Her people knew about the possible implications for going over the curfew but this is a pretty hefty fine, even for Madonna,” a stadium source told the Sun newspaper.
The concert, which formed part of the singer’s 27-date Sticky & Sweet world tour, was criticised by fans.
Many wrote to Gigwise to vent their anger about Madonna’s late arrival, the venues poor sound and the travel problems after the concert.
You can read their thoughts here.
A spokesperson for Madonna has since denied that their were sound issues.
