MADONNA will perform at the M.E.N. Arena in one of only two confirmed British dates this year.
The pop superstar brings her Sticky and Sweet world tour to Manchester in July, before heading to Europe.
It
is only the third appearance 50-year-old Madonna has made in the city
in 25 years, and this time she will be accompanied by trance DJ Paul
Oakenfold.
Madonna first played in the city at the
Hacienda in 1984, her British debut which was filmed for Channel 4
music show The Tube. She returned in 2004 with her sell-out
Re-Invention tour.
The Sticky and Sweet tour came to Europe last year
but did not stop in Manchester. It was the biggest grossing tour in
history for a solo artist, featuring tracks from her latest No 1 album,
Hard Candy, as well as old classics.
Tickets for the
fully-seated July 7 show, which follows a London date, are priced £65,
£85, £110 and £175 and go on sale next Friday. Call 0844 847 8000.
