Don't believe the Internet buzz about a possible Madonna-Guy Ritchie
reconciliation. Yes, the superstar's ex-hubby has been seen coming and
going from Madonna's New York apartment, but it's not about romance.
Madonna and Ritchie are keen on maintaining a friendly relationship
both for their children's sake -- and possibly for a few joint film
projects. Despite the dismal failure of previous movies the two have
made -- remember ''Swept Away''? -- Madonna in particular believes
''she and Guy could still make a terrific film, if they find the right
project,'' said a Madonna insider
• As for Madonna's brief fling with Alex Rodriguez, it
seems the New York Yankees slugger's ''A-Rod'' moniker is appropriate.
I'm hearing even Madonna -- herself famous for a healthy sexual
appetite -- was ''often overwhelmed'' by the major leaguer's nonstop
stamina.
On top of that, Madonna also is said to have tired of A-Rod's
less-than-intellectual approach to things. ''Unlike Madonna, he really
isn't all that interested in the arts or politics or philosophy,'' said
the source.
• Though many stars at the Golden Globes did not think Sacha Baron Cohen's
joke about Madonna was funny -- the new divorcee apparently thought it
was a riot. Cohen, best known now for his hit film ''Borat,'' quipped
that the recession had forced many stars to cut back. He cited Madonna
even having to fire ''one of her assistants. ... Our thoughts are with
you, Guy Ritchie."
A Madonna pal reports she said, ''Come on. He's a comedian. We're public people. We're fair game ... and it was funny.''
