Nude Photo of Madonna Being Auctioned

A nude photo of Madonna from when she was 20 years old is currently being auctioned and it is expected to sell for at least $10,000, according to Christie's auction house.

At that time, in 1979, when the now pop-queen was known as Madonna Louise Ciccone and had not risen to stardom yet, the modeling session only earned her approximately $25.

The full-frontal black-and-white image was taken by Lee Friedlander and was featured in the Playboy magazine back in 1985, while now it is scheduled to be auctioned on February 12.

Head of Christie's photography department Matthieu Humery stated that Madonna was a 20-year-old dancer striving to make her mark when she decided to answer Friedlander's newspaper ad seeking a nude model.

He added that this week, six other photos from the shooting session had been sold to Playboy and that the one being auctioned was the most explicit one of all.

Speaking of the shoot, Friedlander said that Madonna seemed a very confident and street-wise girl and also a good professional model.

Besides the nude photo, another image of Madonna, taken by Helmut Newton, is being auctioned and is expected to sell for $10,000 to $15,000. In the latter, which was also sold to Playboy at one time, Madonna is wearing lingerie and a man is kneeling in front of her.

These photos of Madonna are part of a collection comprising about 150 other images that Leon and Michaela Constantiner have decided to put up for auctioning.
