UPPER EAST SIDE (WPIX) -- It looks like The Queen of Pop is movin' on up to the East Side.
Madonna, 50, shelled out $40 million to buy a four-story, Georgian-style townhouse on East 81st Street, according to the New York Post. The material girl apparently scooped up her new pad for $5 million less than the original asking price.
Madge's new living quarters include: a two-car garage, a 3,000-square-foot garden, nine fireplaces, an elevator and a wine cellar. In addition the 12,000 square-foot space has 13 bedrooms and 14 bathrooms.
On a downside, residents inside the posh 26-room mansion tell the Post noise and vibrations from a nearby subway could be heard and felt in some sections of the building.
Madonna originally scoffed at the idea of living at her new home's location, which is situated between Lexington and Third Avenues. However, sources now say she's looking forward to moving in and plans on adding a touch of her own personal style to the home with extensive renovations planned, including extreme security upgrades.
Madge is also reportedly looking for an English-style home either on the East End of Long Island or in Westchester.
