Six Directions for Madonna's Next Album
One of the confirmed producers working on the still-unnamed work is Brendan O'Brien, who made a name for himself sitting behind the boards for Pearl Jam and has also helmed productions for Bruce Springsteen, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Temple Pilots, AC/DC and Aerosmith. Does that mean that the singer behind "Like a Prayer," "Ray of Light" and "Hung Up" is going to dive deep into the rock world and make a guitar-based album?
It's a possibility, though reports also have A-Trak (a Kanye West collaborator) and David Guetta (of "Sexy Chick" fame) working on the album as well, which suggests that it's a combination of roots rock, futuristic hip-hop and whatever Akon makes. With that in mind, here are six directions Madonna could go in.
Rock Opera
Madonna has theater experience (she famously lobbied hard to play Eva Peron in the film version of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Evita") but has never really constructed an album based on a narrative (and the disastrous American Life shouldn't count). She could bring in Green Day producer Rob Cavallo to beef up her rock chops and flesh out her own version of American Idiot.
Electro-Rap Posse Album
If A-Trak is on board, she should expand her horizons and invite a cavalcade of MCs to throw down with her on a full-on rap album. We're certain that Lupe Fiasco, Dizzee Rascal, Mos Def, Rhymefest and Kanye would all probably be game to trade verses with Madonna, who is not necessarily a stranger to spitting. Remember her verse on "American Life"?
Metal
Though she's lorded over some tough dance beats in the past, truly hard music has never been her forte and remains an uncharted territory for the star. O'Brien has produced music for metallers like Mastodon and Incubus, so he's ready, willing and able to crank Madonna's sound up to 11 and really let her rip.
Country Rock
Madonna isn't above aping a current star, and with Taylor Swift cranking out huge hits in big numbers, why wouldn't she attempt to add country to her repertoire? O'Brien has produced twangy records for Springsteen and Pete Droge, and Madonna herself has toyed with country and dance sounds for "Don't Tell Me."
Straight Disco
Maybe all these producers are just there to throw us off the scent, and her plan is to actually crank out an even deeper-diving disco record. After all, her recent single "Celebration" was well-received, and the throwback sounds on 2008's Hard Candy wowed both the dance and pop worlds. Perhaps she just wants to make ABBA tunes for the rest of her career (which wouldn't be such a bad thing, really).
No Limit Revival
She could fire everybody, recruit Master P's Beats by the Pound crew and shout along to some late-'90s New Orleans bounce. That probably won't happen, but Silkk the Shocker could use the work.

Bulgaria Set to Tax Madonna's Sofia Concert Fee
Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency has initiated inspections of 13 Bulgarian companies organizing concerts of international music performers in the country.
This was announced Tuesday by Krasimir Stefanov, Director of the NRA, who said the measures are part of the Agency's program to enforce taxation legislation with regard to the entertainment business.
Bulgarian personal income tax law requires that 10% of the fees received by every single foreign performer with a concert in Bulgaria be paid to the state. Thus, the tax collecting campaign may affect US pop star Madonna, who had a concert in Sofia in August 2009 as well as a number of other foreign performers.
Stefanov said none of the 13 Bulgarian companies in question paid the tax on the fees of the performers they brought to Bulgaria.
He also announced that 21 out of a total of 37 popfolk and pop stars inspected recently by the NRA would have to be summoned for written explanations of their financial situation since a number of discrepancies had been found in their tax returns and their actual finances.
For instance, one of the popfolk singers bought two apartments worth BGN 206 000, but declared no income in the last five years

Madonna has put donors off giving money to Malawi kids' home, it's claimed
The orphanage where Madonna adopted Mercy James earlier this year is struggling to raise funds as donors are turned off by the pop star's involvement.
Organisers say potential benefactors wrongly believe that Madonna, 51, pledged thousands of pounds to the Kondananihome in Malawi.
A source said: "We find it a day-to-day struggle to survive. Some days we don't even know if there will be enough food to feed the babies.Donors are not giving because they are under the impression Madonna paid us vast amounts of her money."
He added that the Christianrun home wouldn't take her money anyway because of her links with Kabbalah.
Head of the orphanage Annie Chikhwaza said of Mercy's adoption: "I was never offered a penny. I did not expect any either."
Madonna also adopted David Banda from Malawi.

Grammy Rumor and Nile Rogers reunion?
Even though we are sick of having Madonna's crotch in our face all the time, we still cling to her because we know she is capable of making artistic comebacks. We are already excited about her new album that has rock producer Brendon O'Brien on board and a possible reunion with Like a Virgin collaborator Nile Rogers. But the excitement doesn't stop here.
We are told that Grammy producers asked Madonna to open up the award show this year. At first, she refused because she had nothing to promote. However, her manager convinced her to perform a couple classics. If the talks go through, we will see Madonna performing a medley of "Holiday," "Dress You Up," and "Frozen." Let's hope that the talks don't freeze like they did with Saturday Night Live last year.

Producer announced for Madonnas next album
One of the producers on the project is Brendon O'Brien, who's worked with both Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam

And according to various Madonna fan-sites, David Guetta is also working with Madge! Just last month he said in an interview, "I would love to work with Madonna. It will probably happen very soon actually. It's all in the early stages and I'm not allowed to speak about it yet!"
And just this week Guetta said he is "already working on some tryouts to shift Madonna."
David Guetta seems like the guy to work with right now. He's responsible for the Black Eyed Peas latest album, as well as two of the biggest hits of the year, "Sexy Bitch" featuring Akon and "When Love Takes Over" with Kelly Rowland.
Madonna is smart to work with him! We're always excited to hear what she comes up with. Age definitely isnt a factor when it comes to Madge!

Dolce & Gabanna & Madonna a collaborative effort
From brainstorming to picking out clothes from the Spring 2010 collection, Madonna was very involved in the process; creating a look that was disheveled, rumpled and, of course, effortlessly sexy.

Madonna to watch Sherlock with Guy and Kids
The Queen Of Pop jetted into the UK on Christmas Eve with the kiddies to spend the day at Ritchie's posh country home, Ashcombe House.
And Guy had a real treat in store for Rocco, David, Mercy James and Lourdes - he had transformed his grand pad into a winter wonderland.
A source told the UK's Mail On Sunday: "Madonna [flew] in for 24 hours so Guy [could] spend Christmas Day with the children.
"Things are amicable between them and the children love Christmas at Ashcombe House in Wiltshire, which Guy has turned into a Santa's grotto."
And looks like Madge and Guy will reunite again very soon to take the family to see Ritchie's new movie, 'Sherlock Holmes'.
Guy admitted his brood hadn't seen any of his gangster flicks because, "I don't want them being conspicuously exposed to bad language," but that Sherlock Holmes is "something the whole family could enjoy."
Wonder if the invite extends to Madge's toyboy, Jesus...

Holy Day for Madonna and Jesus
MADONNA wrapped up warm with a festive red hat as she braved the London weather yesterday.
The Hung Up star was joined by toyboy lover JESUS LUZ as she took daughter LOURDES and MERCY to the Kabbalah Centre.
And she made sure the adopted four year-old was cosy in a white woolly hat and scarf.
The girls were staying with their mum over the festive season while their brothers, ROCCO and DAVID spent Christmas Day with dad GUY RITCHIE.
As Mercy enjoyed her first Christmas in England, her friends in her native Malawi were not forgotten.
Madonna sent a truckload of gifts to the orphanage where she found the little girl, as well as providing food and drink for a party.
The eighty children at the Kondanani orphanage were delighted when they were given Croc shoes, toys and chocolates, all with gift tags which read, "Love from Mercy."

Madonna sends children in Malawian orphanage Christmas presents from daughter Mercy
Friends of Madonna's adopted daughter sang carols at their orphanage... wearing Crocs sent as Xmas gifts by the star.
The footwear was in a truckload of presents from little Mercy, four, to the children she grew up with at the Kondanani orphanage in Malawi, delivered by an African Santa Claus.
Madonna, 51, also threw a party with fizzy drinks, hamburgers and chocolate at the orphanage and sent a Christmas card. The gifts were handed to more than 80 children with tags reading "Love from Mercy". Orphan Chitsanzo, six, said: "I am very happy my friend Mercy bought us shoes, toys, chocolates and cakes. They are very beautiful." Her friend Happiness, four, added: "I'm so happy I have received Christmas gifts. I have my own toys now."
Carers said it was the most presents the children had ever received.
Mercy moved to London in June to live with Madonna's other children - Lourdes, 13, Rocco, nine, and adopted Malawian David Banda.

Public celebrates Madonna’s musical journey
Madonna: actress, author, designer, mother, entrepreneur, director, activist, and of course musician. Everyone knows and holds an opinion about her, but in the end, it all comes back to Madonna, the person.
Now, after releasing her ultimate greatest hits collection Celebration, winning top tour at the 2009 Billboard Touring Awards, and a week away from releasing her newest single "Revolver," Madonna is still riding high in her third decade of her career. But what keeps her fans enthralled and the public eternally curious after all this time?
Throughout the years, Madonna has been praised and criticized, but has never been forgotten. The sticker on the Celebration CD boasts that it consists of "34 songs that changed the world."
Although Madonna's legacy is much more profound than just those 34 songs, it all stems from her music. Since her start in 1982, Madonna has been captivating audiences everywhere with her fearlessness, surprising many. Madonna's first hit single, "Everybody," was a simple, pulsing invitation to the dance floor and opened the door to the classics, concerts, and controversy still following her today.
Madonna's 80s years launched her from an unknown club singer trying to make it in New York City to a world renowned superstar. This decade spawned classic albums such as "Madonna," "Like a Virgin," "True Blue," and "Like a Prayer," each of which produced hit songs.
Controversy followed as Madonna was criticized for commending teenage pregnancy when she released "Papa Don't Preach" and for insulting the Catholic Church when she released "Like a Prayer." But the radios constantly played the singles, the media could not keep away, and it was impossible for anyone not to notice this force of nature Madonna had become.
A starring role in the classic movie Desperately Seeking Susan and the 1985 Virgin Tour were highly successful endeavors as well. As word of Madonna spread around the world, Madonna embarked on the Who's That Girl Tour in 1987, selling out in stadiums around the world. In just one decade, Madonna had become a worldwide sensation.
Madonna kicked off the year 1990 with the start of her Blond Ambition Tour, touring to support the personal album Like a Prayer and the jazzy soundtrack to Dick Tracy, I'm Breathless. This tour combined theatrics with music, revolutionizing the way artists now tour.
In the early 90s, Madonna experimented with racy topics and released a music video for her song "Justify My Love" that was deemed "too hot" for MTV to play.
In 1992, Madonna went on to release an explicit photo book titled Sex and an album titled Erotica. Many criticized Madonna during this time for her provocative actions, but she seemed unaffected, expanding her influence in the music industry by co-founding a record label called Maverick.
She toured the next year on the Girlie Show World Tour, a spectacle that built upon the themes conceived the year before.
Bedtime Stories, a mellow-themed album, followed.
Next, Madonna prepared for the acting role of a lifetime, landing a starring in Evita. Madonna received critical acclaim for her role in this political musical, thus beginning a new phase in her career.
The dance floor queen from the 80s gave way to the new mother Madonna had become, and her music reflected that. Ray of Light, Madonna's 1998 Grammy-winning album, showed off a new electro sound and a more mature look. Madonna took that album and the successful album Music on the road again with the dark, dramatic show, the Drowned World Tour in 2001.
By 2003, Madonna continued and expanded upon this new sound and produced the album American Life, causing controversy for its politically charged, anti-war first single. The album didn't sell as well as previous ones, but her greatest-hits tour, Reinvention became a fan favorite, relieving any doubt that Madonna was off her mark immediately.
Madonna's next two albums, Confessions on a Dance Floor and Hard Candy sold millions of copies worldwide joining her loyal, initial fans from the beginning of her career with new fans who had only recently discovered her music.
The Confessions Tour in 2006 was a theatrical, dance-oriented tour intending to support Confessions on a Dance Floor, returning her to dance roots. The award winning, record breaking Sticky and Sweet Tour took place in 2008 into 2009 and affirmed why Madonna is so unique.
In just under two hours, Madonna danced, sang, skipped rope, and played guitar with just as much, if not more, passion and enthusiasm as when she took the stage and toured for the first time in 1985.
From Everybody to Revolver, the collection of songs on Celebration, selected by Madonna and her fans, are a reminder of the success she has shared with us and what is still to occur. Her contributions to the music world are immense and no one knows what she is planning next. But, why do we still care about Madonna? Because after all of this, how could we not!

Madonna to buy more East End Property
The "Material Girl" is now eyeing a four-bedroom farmhouse that is currently owned by Michael Minkoff, a friend of Gwyneth Paltrow. The property also boasts a pool, pool house and two barns, for a total cost of $4.4 million.
"While recent owners have been high profile, the horse farm operations have been low key," Benny Graboski, a Hamptons resident who once owned the land Madonna is eyeing, told the Easthampton Press. "The horses have been well taken care of and the barns and paddocks have been very well maintained."
"They have been very good neighbors and I'm sure that will carry on with Madonna," he added. "We welcome her to the neighborhood."

Ritchie: 'Madonna a perfectly good actress'
Speaking to The Daily Beast, the Sherlock Holmes director suggested that cinema-goers are unable to separate the pop icon's off-screen image from the characters she plays in movies.
"If you ask me, I think she's all right," he said of Madonna's acting ability. "I think she's perfectly good. I just don't think people can get her persona out of the way."
Ritchie also defended his 2002 movie Swept Away, which starred Madonna and was panned by critics, claiming that he treated the subject material in an "ironic" way.
"The whole thing is supposed to be ironic," he commented. "It's about a man that hits a woman, and at the same time, it was her. There were all sorts of irony. If you ask me, everything about it was rather interesting, but it was such a feral relationship between a man and woman and you just can't get away with that in contemporary society."

Madonnas #22 on AOLS most searched Female celeb 2009
Madonnas on top in news stories this decade!
MADONNA has been named as the most written about celebrity of the past decade in Britain.
Researchers found Madge, 51, featured in 45,633 national newspaper articles.
They say there's no such thing as bad publicity – and if sheer column inches are anything to go by then the Noughties have been all about Madonna.
As the first decade of the 21st century draws to a close, researchers have been busily working out which celebrities have received the most amount of space in Britain's newspapers, with the Kabbalah-loving queen of pop emerging a clear winner.
Madge was already the bestselling female artist of the 20th century when 1999 became 2000, but over the past 10 years she has continued to dominate the headlines thanks to her regular chameleonic reinventions and high-profile marriage (and then divorce) to British director Guy Ritchie.
Madonna-the-pop-goddess (as opposed to the religious version) has been mentioned in 45,633 articles in the British press over the past 10 years, almost 17,000 times more than her nearest rival, Robbie Williams.
Researches found that the first half of the decade was so dominated by Madonna stories that even when her publicity popularity peaked in 2007, she had still accrued enough media coverage to win the overall race by a clear margin.
Alex Ayling, commissioning executive of online television channel Liv, which commissioned the study, said: "Madonna's ability to be able to reinvent herself and her image has meant she has stayed at the top of her game throughout the Noughties and we salute the queen of pop."
But The Independent's music critic Andy Gill was more circumspect. "What's most remarkable about these figures is the lack of musical success Madonna has had in the past 10 years, considering just how much press coverage she's received. Whether it's Madonna or Robbie Williams, it is their soap opera lifestyle that generates the headlines, not their musical ability," he said.
Victoria and David Beckham were only able to manage a sixth and seventh place on the top 10 most written about table, but "Brand Beckham" (mentions of both David and Victoria in the same article) came in fourth with 26,561 hits, marginally below Britney Spears, whose eventful decade of pop stardom and public breakdown accrued her 27,910 hits in the British press. Kate Moss came fifth with 26,494 mentions; Michael Jackson, Simon Cowell and Sir Paul McCartney completed the top 10.
This year, however, was dominated by Michael Jackson's death in June and pretty much anyone associated with uber-pop svengali Simon Cowell, who was himself the second most written about celebrity this year after the late King of Pop with 6,213 hits. Susan Boyle and Cheryl Cole joined The X Factor creator in the top 10, while Jedward, perhaps the greatest pop enigma of the Noughties, have managed to wangle their heavily coiffured quiffs into 1,112 articles in the past three months alone.
So who will dominate the tabloids for the next decade? If Cheryl Cole's recent omnipresence is anything to go by, the singer looks sure to be in with a chance of pole position come 2020.
Thanks to her primetime role as a judge on The X Factor, and the tabloid press's increasing fixation with her at the expense of her fellow Girls Aloud bandmates, Cole has seen her newspaper stocks skyrocket.
In 2007 there were "just" 884 articles written about the Geordie singer but in 2008 – the year she joined The X Factor – the number of articles mentioning Cole jumped to 2,241. This year she has appeared in 3,745 articles, making her the fourth most written about celebrity of 2009.

Madonna to spend Christmas with Ritchie
Queen of Pop' Madonna has chosen not to spend the festive season with her toy-boy Jesus Luz as she heads to London to spend Christmas with ex-husband Guy Ritchie.
The 51-year-old singer is bringing the couple’s children Rocco, David Banda, her adopted daughter Mercy James, and her eldest child Lola, to see Ritchie for a traditional Christmas, reported Daily Mail online.
"Madonna is flying in so Guy can spend Christmas Day with the children. Things are amicable between them and the children love Christmas at Ashcombe House in Wiltshire, which Guy has turned into a Santa's grotto," said a source close to the 'Like a Virgin' hitmaker.
The 41-year-old Ritchie and the 'Vogue' hitmaker got divorced in December last year.
The British director Guy Ritchie finally lifted the lid on his conflicting emotions for ex-wife Madonna, when he said in an interview that he still loves her.

George Clooney spills beans on dating Madonna
GEORGE Clooney went on a "really bad" date with Madonna after she split with Guy Ritchie.
According to British newspaper the Daily Star, the Hollywood hunk — who is currently dating Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis — was set up with the Holiday singer by a mutual pal.
"He figured she is a smart, accomplished woman so why not give it a try?" a source said.
"They went out for dinner in New York, but it turned out really bad.
"She kept trying to make jokes that weren't at all funny the entire time and didn't want to have a real conversation.
"He could not wait to get out of there."

The NY Daily News on Madonnas new shoot
Madonna washes dishes and eats pasta while wearing designer dresses in new Dolce & Gabbana ads
Madonna will wash dishes, but only for Dolce & Gabbana.
The luxe Italian brand's new spring/summer 2010 campaign features a very domesticated Madge doing everyday household chores.
Inspired by Italian neorealism cinema, the prints have the Material Girl playing a fantasy housewife: prepping dinner, eating pasta and rinsing plates while wearing expensive, low-cut designer dresses.
"To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true," designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana tell the Vanity Fair's Italian edition, where the pictures debut this week.
"She loved the collection," added Gabbana. "She is passionate and impressively knowledgeable about Italian cinema."
Celebrity photographer Stephen Klein took the glossy black and white shots in New York City on Nov. 6.
Speaking from the shoot, Gabbana told Just Jared.com, "The campaign with Madonna is beautiful . . . We're very, very tired but very happy as well."
That's gotta be music to the 51-year-old singer's ears after she was replaced as the face of Louis Viutton by a younger model earlier this month.
So does the pop diva really do the dishes at home?
"Certainly," says Gabbana. "She's a very practical woman."
He even argues that he's seen the famously fickle eater scarf down spaghetti, despite reports that she has banned everything from dairy to sugar from her pantry at times, and once survived on a strictly macrobiotic diet.
"Of course [she eats pasta]," he says, "and she can allow herself to with all the exercise she does!"

Madonna consoles teary Kate
Kate Hudson, upset by her breakup with Alex Rodriguez, found a sympathetic ear at the local premiere of "Nine."
At Tuesday's after-party at M2 in Chelsea, Hudson was seen chatting quietly with Madonna, who dated the Yankee slugger last year. "When the cameras were on Kate she was all smiles. But privately you could tell she has had her heart broken," a witness said.
Humiliated Hudson, who was reportedly dumped by A-Rod because he felt she was hogging the spotlight, also flew in her mom, Goldie Hawn, to support her. Mother and daughter drank dirty martinis at M2 "and hung out all night," a spy told Page Six. "It was her big premiere, and she was upset Alex wasn't there to support her."

Madonna lets Guy Ritchie take the kids on Christmas day
GUY Ritchie says he can't wait to spend Christmas day with his children after former wife Madonna agreed to let him take them.
A source said: "Guy is really pleased, and cannot quite believe he and Madonna came to such an amicable arrangement."
And Guy can't wait to spoil Rocco, nine, and David, four, with presents and a traditional Christmas lunch.
The source told the Daily Mirror: "When Guy and Madonna were together they didn't really celebrate Christmas Day due to Madonna's staunch Kabbalah beliefs.
"Now that he's a single man, Guy is determined to spoil them rotten and give the youngsters a Christmas they'll never forget."
