Caresse Henry Commits Suicide

Caresse Henry, who managed Madonna's career from 1997 to 2005, has died of a suspected suicide, according to gossip blog PerezHilton.com. Henry was also known as Caresse Henry Norman. She was once Madonna's personal assistant.

Controversy surrounded Henry's departure as Madonna's manager. Jeanette Wolf reported that Henry quit, while WENN claimed Madonna's devotion to the Kabbalah prompted her to fire her long-term manager. According to WENN:

"Madonna was reportedly shocked that Henry, who had also converted to the mystical offshoot of Judaism, had broken one of the religion's strictest teachings - faithfulness. Henry had a partner back in America, while security man Ricky Dallanegra lived with his girlfriend in London. They have since become a couple after leaving their respective partners. Madonna sought the advice of her rabbi on the matter when she learned of the romance during this summer's Re-invention tour, before deciding to follow the Kabbalah practices and disown Henry."

Perez Hilton wrote the following today on his blog:

"On a personal note, we never had the opportunity to meet Caresse but we did speak with her on the phone last year about a business opportunity and she shared with us that she had been reading our site since we started blogging back in 2004. AND, Henry also reminded us of how hard times were for us back then, when - broke and with little income - we asked our kind readers for donations. She told us that she had given us money back then and we were humbled and touched by her instantly. That is the kind and generous person that she was, her friends tell us. They are all shocked and crushed."
