KATY PERRY has taken a scathing dig at MADONNA, hinting the Queen Of Pop's stage shows are often blasphemous.
The devout Christian - whose parents are pastors - has attacked pop stars for playing the religious card and using biblical symbols for the sake of dramatic effect.
And she's pinpointed Madge as one of the worst offenders, not least when she mounted a cross during her 2006 Confessions tour.
She said: "For me, spirituality is something very important and I don't like it when people take it lightly.
"At times, I don't understand why there are artists who play that card, like when Madonna gets up on a cross to sing."What's more, Katy has forced hubby RUSSELL BRAND to tone down the God-baiting references in his live show.
She added: "Russell has made very blasphemous jokes in the past, but he's making fewer all the time because he knows that I am very sensitive about this subject."
I think she'd get on well with ANDREW SACHS.
