Dolly Parton wants madonna duet

Dolly Parton thinks she would be a ''perfect fit'' for a duet with Madonna.

Dolly Parton wants to duet with Madonna.

The country legend has always wanted to work with the 'Like a Prayer' singer, and thinks their styles would be a good match.

She told The Sunday Times newspaper: "I'd love to do a duet รข€" always wanted to work with Madonna, but she never asked."

She added that either Madonna or Lady Gaga would be: "The perfect fit. Im as outrageous as they are. I was gaudy before they were gaudy."

Dolly is no stranger to the young stars of today and has also previously said she would love to star on a song with musician Jack White, and met rapper Tinie Tempah, who introduced her to his mother, Rosemary.

A source said: "Tinie has been a big fan of Dolly's since he was a little boy. He was on tour but arranged for his mum and sister Kelly to spend some time with Dolly.

"Rosemary invited Dolly along to see Tinie in concert. Dolly said she'd love to go.

"She said she would be up for talking about a collaboration and said Tinie would crack America no problem at all."

MADONNA doesn’t want to be seen!

The pop diva apparently banned photographers from taking pictures of her at a MoMA party Monday night because she “didn’t feel she looked her best”.

According to New York Post gossip column Page Six, Madonna sneaked in through a private entrance sporting black Henry Kissinger-like frames, red lipstick and a black blazer which made her look like a hot grad-school teacher.

It was recently revealed that Madge — who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars — is making Lourdes, 13, do odd jobs to pay for her new mobile phone.

“Madonna will make her run errands or tidy her room,” a source told Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper.

“She always tries to teach her about the value of money and how important it is to earn things as it makes you appreciate them more.”

Vulture Premieres Glee's Take on Madonna's 'I Love New York'

Photo: Courtesy of Fox

Glee's finale isn't until May 24, but Vulture's got a sneak peek at one of the episode's tunes right now. Mostly a take on Madonna's "I Love New York," with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it smattering of "New York, New York" (from On the Town) added to the end of each chorus (and on Glee, it's a wonderful town, not a helluva town), it features no Rachel belting, lots of pumped-up synth, and Finn singing, "If you don't like my attitude, then you can get lost" before uttering a kiss-off that was no less amusing coming from Madonna: "Just go to Texas, isn't that where they golf?" Oh, and Brittany gets a little spoken-word moment, informing us that the New Directions have "seen the Sphinx and we've seen the Cliffs of Dover," which is funny, right? Because they haven't been ANYWHERE! Anyway — bounce up and down like drunk Rachel, imagine the kids cruising through Times Square in adorably color-coordinated ensembles, and focus on Naya Rivera's continued ability to sound exactly like whichever lady singer she's covering.

Madonna on Oprah -new quote

Madonna told the crowd that she is among the millions of people who are inspired by Oprah.

"She fights for things she believes in, even if it makes her unpopular," Madonna said.

Who is Madonna?

Madonna Lady Gaga

Those who think Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' sounds too much like Madonna's 'Express Yourself' are going to get a kick out of this one. A Jeopardy contestant listening to 'Born This Way' mistakenly identified the singer of the song as Madonna!

The $200 question in "Current Music," as read by Alex Trebek, was: "She's the flamboyant performer heard here," which was followed by a short clip of 'Born This Way.'

The first player who buzzed in couldn't quite place the song and incorrectly named Madonna. Unfortunately for this contestant, while Madonna and Gaga may be cousins, they're not the same person. His fellow competitor followed up with the correct response.

Sometimes you have to feel for those Jeopardy contestants. Despite their genius when it comes to history, politics and literature, many are uninformed about popular music. Turn on the radio once in a while!

Salma Hayek wants to see Madonna in a g-string

Salma Hayek thinks Madonna would still look good in a g-string.

The Mexican actress made the comment while promoting The Cat's Meow with Antonio Banderas in Cannes. In an interview with US TV host Meredith Vieira the Today Show presenter asked: 'You've been speaking a lot of Spanish I can't understand, what have you been saying?'

Salma, 44, replied: 'There was a lady wearing a g-string on the beach and I think after 50 you should not wear a g-string on the beach.'

The Frida actress later retracted her statement and said: 'By the way I'm sure there are some women over 50, like Madonna for example, she would be hot on that beach, but not this particular one. I take my word back, maybe if you are 60 you can still wear a g-string on the beach. If you can work it, do it.'

Salma and Antonio have already made five films together. They are currently starring in the animated prequel to Shreck, The Cat's Meow, with the cat character Puss in Boots.

'Antonio worked very hard to create his character, I just show up and meow,' joked Salma.

Rihanna is the latest celebrity to team up with Vita Coco coconut water. The 'California King Bed' singer will be featured in the company's national advertising campaign, beginning this summer.

Madonna creates new gated community

Madonna Builds Gated Community on the Upper East Side

Casa Madonna has become Compound Madonna. Reports are circulating that Her Madgesty is finally moving in to her freshly renovated $32 million mansion  and while our Official Curbed Madonna Correspondent didn't see any moving vans outside he did notice another design feature that the Material Girl has added to the property: A new front gate that basically tells fans, paparazzi and evildoers to buzz off. But aren't there snipers on the roof to protect against all that? Guess the locals won't be allowed to drop off any welcome-to-the-neighborhood fruit baskets.

Madonnas new mansion has a new level

Among the many changes planned for the Material Girl's $32 million Upper East Side mansion was a new level for a gym. A Curbed spy sent along an aerial shotwhen heavy duty construction got underway, and checking back, it looks like the renovation is zipping along faster than a ray of light. It also looks like workers are getting started on making some of that outdoor space more presentable. Last summer the 57-foot-wide house's facelift was unveiled. Guess even a $32 million property can be a bit of a fixer-upper.

Liz smith could wring madonnas neck

I COULD wring the neck of my old pal Madonna. She looked spectacular at the Alexander McQueen tribute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art the other evening. The iconic star wore a gorgeous blue gown that fit her like a glove and was in every way suitable to her alluring maturity and her soon-to-be lauded efforts as the director of "W.E."

But what did M have to say when asked how she felt? "I feel fat in this dress!" she said. I'm sure designer Stella McCartney loved that!

La Ciccone looked in fact, healthy, trim, but rounded in all the right places. She even cut her hair a few inches which makes a big (positive) difference.

I wish she'd stop this foolishness. If she gained twenty pounds she wouldn't be fat. It's okay to be a little voluptuous.

Indeed, I caught Madonna and Warren Beatty in their 1990 film "Dick Tracy" the other night. He insisted she put on weight. She did (they were romancing at the time) and she has rarely looked better onscreen. And she's terrif in that movie too. My favorite scene is when Warren (as Dick) goes backstage to visit M (cabaret singer Breathless Mahoney) whose gangster lover, Lips, has just been killed.

"No tears for Lips?" asks Tracy

"I'm wearing black underwear."

"I wonder whose side you're on" Tracy presses.

""The side I'm always on," replies Breathless, "Mine!"

I recall when I saw this movie at an early screening, the audience went wild over that line; it seemed to confirm and conform to her public image — the ruthless, ambitious, sexually predatory diva.

She was some of that, but less than she led people to believe. She's quite different now. But she still has a fine, sane, disregard for public opinion. And she's still much nicer than she lets on.

She's So Cool

Lola to follow in Madonnas footsteps

Madonna has reportedly been acting as the "perfect mentor" to daughter Lourdes, who is set to continue her mother's pop legacy.

The 52-year-old music icon has teamed up with 14-year-old daughter Lourdes on a track called It's So Cool, which was first recorded eight years ago, but the version featuring the teen's vocals was never released. The song was reworked at a New York studio in February so apparently the star is now considering whether to feature it on her next album, or use it on the soundtrack to her film about US socialite Wallis Simpson.

"Madonna hopes Lourdes will step into her shoes and become one of the biggest female artists in the world," a source told British newspaper The Sun.

"She's the perfect mentor for her daughter and is keen to assist her first steps into the industry."

Many record companies are eager to sign Lourdes, and it is believed she has inherited her mother's musical gift. Those close to the teen say she also shares her mother's trademark charisma and feisty attitude.

"Lourdes has a great voice and plenty of character - like her mom," added the source.

LA Kabbalah Centre to help with tax probe

Los Angeles Kabbalah Centre to help with tax probe

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Kabbalah Centre, a proponent of Jewish mysticism that attracted Madonna and other celebrities, said Friday that it will cooperate with a government tax investigation.

The nonprofit Los Angeles-based center and one of its charities, Spirituality for Kids, received government subpoenas concerning "tax-related issues," the center said in a statement.

It will cooperate and intends to work closely with the Internal Revenue Service, the statement said.

A federal grand jury in New York also is investigating the center, according to subpoenas cited by the Los Angeles Times.

Madonna chaired the board of Spirituality for Kids and donated more than $600,000 to the cause, according to tax filings cited by the Times. However, subpoenas do not indicate that she personally is under scrutiny, the newspaper said.

However, one of the singer's charities, Raising Malawi, is under grand jury investigation even though it cut ties to the Kabbalah Centre this spring.

"We have tried to provide as much information as we can as quickly as possible to the people who are investigating and are very actively cooperating in every way we can," Trevor Neilson of Global Philanthropy Group, the charity's manager, told the Times.

The Kabbalah Centre has been controlled by the Berg family for more than 40 years. It has grown into an international organization that has drawn celebrities such as Ashton Kutcher and Gwyneth Paltrow and may have assets of $260 million.

The federal investigation follows several court actions involving the center's finances. A trustee sorting out a $68 million fraud scheme in a New York bankruptcy court has demanded that the center return $2.9 million it received as an investor.

Heiress Courtenay Geddes filed two lawsuits against the center earlier this year. One claims that the Bergs and others connected to the center defrauded her of about $1.3 million. The other alleges that she contributed $500,000 for a homeschooling program that never was created.

Her attorney argued in February that the center and its related organizations "exist primarily to enrich" the Berg family.

The Kabbalah Centre has called the lawsuits meritless.

The center is run by Chief Executive Karen Berg, 68, with the help of sons Michael Berg, 37, and Yehuda Berg, 38, the Times said. Karen Berg's husband, Philip Berg, 81, became the head rabbi in 1969 but suffered a debilitating stroke in 2004.
