Madonna's teenage daughter Lourdes is reportedly taking singing lessons.

The 14-year-old hopes to follow in her famous mother's footsteps by becoming a singer, according to a US report.

"She is taking lessons in New York from a famous singing coach who works with some of the best talent on Broadway," a source told US magazine InTouch Weekly.

The insider added: "She comes every week after school. She has got a beautiful voice."

Lourdes, nicknamed Lola by her mother, already attends the prestigious LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in Manhattan – which served as the inspiration for the hit 1980 movie, Fame.

She originally enrolled in the drama class to prepare her for a career in acting.

The youngster, who turns 15 on 15 October, has already launched a fashion line – Material Girl – for teenagers with her mum and reality star Kelly Osbourne.

A representative for Madonna was unavailable for comment.
